GDN HOCKEY OFFERS 4 UNIQUE PRODUCTS
As the first Hockey Specialist gym in the country, GDN has engineered an environment to accommodate hockey training through a purpose-built Astroturf pitch and fully equipped gym. Combining our facilities and expertise we are able deliver Hockey specific Strength & Conditioning within 4 unique products, including Hockey Personal Training, Group Hockey Classes, Junior Performance Camps & Team Strength & Conditioning.
We are able to train individuals of all abilities from grass roots to international players. Additionally, a key focus of our work is to promote hockey by working with local schools and clubs.
A 60min Hockey Personal Training (PT) session with an UKSCA qualified strength & conditioning coach.
Players that want to excel in their skill, fitness and tactical knowledge within the sport will benefit from a more individual service. Bespoke and progressive training programs are developed to target the clients specific hockey goals, such as certain skills as well as helping them to identify any muscular imbalances, giving players a stronger foundation of fitness for the sport.
We can structure training programmes to coincide with trials, preseason training and other important fixtures, enabling a peak in fitness and skill at the right time.
GDN camps are exclusively tailored to cover 4 main areas of hockey including match play, stick and ball skills, shooting, strength & conditioning (S&C). The camps fully utilise GDN’s unique facility, they are structured to improve the physical aspects of hockey in a controlled and safe environment. We aim to teach players how to optimise their movement and power as well as providing a positive environment to promote respectable sports people.
GDN Performance Camps are designed for a maximum of 10 players, these exclusive slots enable players to gain unrivalled attention and feedback from the trainers as well as working in a close knit group.
Hockey classes at GDN combine skill development, strength & conditioning for the sport and small-sided match play.
Hockey by nature is a one-sided sport and therefore causes imbalances in the body, which increases the risk of injury and can shorten a player’s career. our classes help to create a robust foundation of fitness for hockey and everyday life. This platform enables an increase in power, athletic ability and removes any imbalances in the body. We also coach movement mechanics to teach players how to optimise the chains of muscles needed to generate more speed, agility & acceleration. Finally, we work to Improve cardiovascular fitness by training the correct energy systems for hockey. If you’re looking to supplement your club hockey and take your skills to the next level, these classes will give you the extra boost and time on the pitch that you need. All classes include a gym session and a stick and ball section. There is a maximum of 10 players per class.
A package providing off-season training tailored specifically for hockey and the season ahead. The 2 hour training sessions cover 3 aspects of fitness including hockey specific strength training, movement based exercises and energy systems drills.
In addition to the session we create a periodised training program for the players to folow in the build up to the season so that they are peaking in fitness at the right time. We provide on going support for players, advising on exercise technique, nutrition and program execution.
